| Memorial match wrecked by the weather |
 |
THE Memorial Match at Oulton Park to mark the long service to the club of late chairman Roy Ramsbottom was rained off.
The champions were due to take on a strong Cheshire XI, but morning rain and miserable conditions persuaded captains Nathan Dumelow and Andy Hall to call it off after an early tea.
Chairman George Taylor welcomed the teams and guests and wished Cheshire well for the forthcoming season and his words were echoed by Roy’s widow Sue, a regular attender at Oulton’s home matches.
