1874 NORTHWICH’S reward for beating higher-ranked opposition in the North West Counties League Challenge Cup at the weekend is a date with a familiar foe.
Ian Street’s men have been paired with Division One rivals Formby, one of only two teams to which they have lost in the league during the club’s debut season.
They meet at Barton Stadium in the last 16 early next year.
Both teams made it there after sending out Premier Division opposition; front men Mike Brandon and Matthew Ward both scored twice to help 1874 see off Squires Gate.
Meanwhile the Squirrels, victors by a single goal at Barton Stadium last month, won 4-1 at Silsden after extra time.
