CATALANS Dragons will be missing influential marquee signing Todd Carney when they visit The Halliwell Jones Stadium tomorrow, Friday, kick off 8pm.

The Australian stand off tore a pectoral muscle during Sunday’s 22-22 draw with Huddersfield Giants at Magic Weekend.

Fellow countryman Willie Tonga will also miss Catalans’ trip to Warrington after he suffered a broken jaw in the same fixture.

French international Remi Casty has been cleared to play on Friday.

The Perpignan outfit currently sit on the same points as their hosts but remain in seventh while Wolves sit fifth.

Warrington have won four of their last five meetings with Catalans, but it was the French side who took the two points earlier this season.

They recorded a 38-18 success in Perpignan back in February.

Catalans head into the fixture in improved form having lost once in their last five and recorded victories over Wigan Warriors, St Helens and Hull KR.

Wolves will be wary of the threat carried by second rower Zeb Taia, who is the French club’s top try scorer and fifth overall in Super League with 11 so far this campaign.

Hooker Ian Henderson has made more tackles than any Warrington player so far this season, but Chris Hill edges Taia in metres made.

Tony Smith admits Carney will be a big loss to Friday’s opponents.

“I think it was his first game at their patch, he had a pretty decent game and hurt us a lot,” said Smith.

“Not that we wish ill of any player, but would he make a difference? You would expect so, but we still expect a tough game.

“Their second half last week was terrific, really good. They’ll throw the ball around and ask questions.
