MATT Farr has promised he will continue to put faith in players that show promise in Winnington Park’s junior section.
He selected two teenagers, Sam Houghton and Archie Sanchez, for the first-team last weekend and both played a part in a 23-18 victory at Leigh.
The latter, a scrum-half, made his debut.
“We’ve demonstrated our commitment by picking two of our colts,” said the head coach.
“While we know they have the quality to play at this level, it’s always a big step up to senior rugby.
“However both Archie and Sam did fantastically well and can have a long future here.”
He hasn’t ruled out other members of Park’s under 18s side featuring in a Lancs/Cheshire Division One fixture before the end of the campaign.
Farr added: “We believe there are many others who can compete for a place in the future.”
Park, sixth in the standings following their promotion from the level below at the end of last season, host Southport at Burrows Hill on Saturday, kick-off 2.15pm.
