A WOMAN has been arrested following a crash which saw a car flip onto its roof.

Emergency services were called out to Moulton last week following reports of a crash on Regent Street.

Firefighters arrived shortly after 8pm on Thursday (October 26) and found a woman trapped inside the vehicle, which had ended up on its roof as a result of the crash.

Cheshire Police has now confirmed that after being rescued she was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At 8.10pm on Thursday (October 26), police were called to reports of an overturned vehicle on Regent Street, Moulton, following a collision.

“A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life changing or life threatening.”

On Monday (October 30), police confirmed the woman had since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Two fire engines, one each from Northwich and Winsford, attended the scene.

“A single car was involved in a collision and ended up on its roof, leaving one casualty trapped inside,” said a Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.

“Firefighters stabilised the vehicle while ambulance staff assessed the casualty prior to being extricated.

“Firefighters working alongside ambulance personnel were able to ease the casualty onto a long board and remove them from the car through a side door.

“The crews then made the scene safe.”

North West Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

They confirmed the woman sustained a head injury from the crash.
