YOUNGSTERS will soon be able to enjoy a new play area at a Weaverham pub.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has given the green light for the timber children's play area at The Hanging Gate, in Sandy Lane.
In the pub's planning application, agent Design306 said: "The new children's play area has been sought after for many years and even more since the extension forming the function suite has become very popular with family get-togethers and celebrations."
A new glazed canopy, folding screens and an extended paved area will also be installed to the rear of the pub, to provide a better outdoor area for for get-togethers in the sunshine.
The go-ahead has also been given for a new bin enclosure area.
Approving the plans, CWAC officers said: "The proposals are considered to represent improvements to the public house that would not lead to highways or amenity concerns.
"The nature and location of the amendments are also considered to preserve the character of the wider conservation area."

Brewery JW Lees, which applied for permission, has three years to get on with the work.
The Hanging Gate, which for a brief time was the Casa Matta Italian restaurant, was bought by JW Lees in December 2016 and underwent refurbishment the following year.
