TWO class A drug dealers have been jailed after being caught with £500 of cannabis, heroin and cocaine in Rudheath.

John Ellison, of Elaine Street in Liverpool, and Kadell Rivers, of Skelton Road in Stretford, were pulled over in King Street.

They had previously been spotted in the same Audi A3 in Winsford, before being stopped by police officers around 1pm on Thursday, March 7.

Officers had seen two items – later found to be bags of cannabis – thrown out of the passenger side window, and both men as well as the car were searched.

Ellison, 29, was found to be in possession of around £200 in cash, and four mobile phones were found inside the Audi.

The pair were subsequently arrested and whilst in police custody it was discovered that Ellison had hidden 27 wraps of heroin and 22 wraps of cocaine inside his body.

Rivers, 24, had concealed a mobile phone SIM card.

The drugs recovered as a result of the vehicle stop had a street value of around £500.

Forensic examinations of the mobile phones and SIM cards found by officers showed that they had been used to arrange the supply of illegal drugs.

They contained contacts of known drug addicts and text messages relating to drug dealing activity.

The pair pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to supply a controlled drug of class A – heroin and cocaine – while Ellison also admitted a charge of possessing a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

Ellison was jailed for four years and Rivers for three years and four months.

DC Paul Matchett said: “Our investigation into the activities of John Ellison and Kadell Rivers showed that the car they were travelling in was regularly coming into Cheshire from the Liverpool and Manchester areas.

“Pulling over the car in Rudheath led to a quantity of heroin and cocaine and a small quantity of cannabis being recovered, despite Ellison’s best efforts to conceal the drugs.

“Illegal drugs have a detrimental impact on our communities and removing those involved in drug dealing from them is a constant goal at Cheshire Constabulary.

“I hope that this case and the custodial sentences handed to Ellison and Rivers sends a clear message to other potential criminals that the use and supply of illegal drugs will not be tolerated in Cheshire.

“I would like to thank the officers and staff involved in the case for the dedication and commitment that they have shown in bringing these offenders to justice.

“While this investigation has now concluded our fight against organised criminals continues and I urge anyone with any information about suspected drug related activity in their community to get in touch. You will be listened to and we will investigate the matter.

“Breaking the cycle of serious and organised crime is very difficult and while we work with our partners we need the public to be extra eyes and ears and to come forward with information.

“You can report suspected drug dealing to us directly by calling 101. Alternatively, information can also be given anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”

On top of their custodial sentences Ellison and Rivers were each ordered to pay a £170 victim surcharge.

Rivers was also ordered to forfeit the £200 he was found in possession of.
