CAN I ask if we have to have so many lights on our town bypass that they be in sync?

This is so that traffic can flow freely from the roundabout through the lights at Venables Road and through the lights at Crum Hill and the lights at the Memorial Court.

At present, even if the lights are on green at Venables Road traffic cannot move because the lights are on red at Crum Hill or at the Memorial Court.

A simple solution so why not at least try it.

People can still cross when the lights are on Red.

On another subject, there is a very simple reason why not to impose parking charges in Northwich and I was an example.

Having dropped my wife and her cousin at the bus station I considered having a day out myself but decided instead to pop into town for a browse.

That browse led me to buying a pork pie for my lunch and a sausage roll for my tea from Webb’s.

I then popped into another shop and bought two LP records before having a coffee and a scone in a cafe (I bought something else in Sainsbury’ s but that has to stay a secret!) Had I had to pay to park I would instead have spent this money elsewhere.

Parking charges will mean no more “popping into town” for me and many more people, we will go only if we have to.

This will be a case of “cutting off your nose to spite your face” and a complete disaster for all small local businesses.
