THE massive cuts to Cheshire West and Chester Council funding by the previous Liberal Democrat/Conservative coalition government and now even deeper cuts by the current Conservative government have left the current council facing a £50 million shortfall in funding.
Cuts are just a word until you look at the real effect they have on communities and the devastating effect they have on real people. The Local Government Association (LGA) has just announced that the cuts in funding from the previous coalition government and effect on local councils especially those in the north and north west.
The LGA has also stated that councils will struggle to provide the services they have provided in the past as cuts in council funding from the previous coalition and present government have made it almost impossible for councils to provide many services.
This continuous attack on local authorities by the previous LibDem/Conservative coalition and the present Conservative government is actually an attack on localism and democracy and can only serve to hurt residents in Winsford.
