WITH reference to the ongoing situation at the Bull Ring in Northwich town centre and traffic access to Weaver Way.

While walking past the entrance to the NatWest Bank towards town, the following occurred: A van appeared from the market carpark and headed into Weaver Way against a red light and driving against the one way system.

After this van disappeared into Weaver Way, two cars appeared from there but instead of heading down the one way system into the market car park and exiting on to Watling Street, they decided to turn right at the bank and head for Watling Street, opposite traffic coming from London Road.

This is dangerous and something has to be done before some serious accident occurs.

Pedestrians in the Bull Ring area have to be vigilant at the best of times, but to now have to deal with traffic going against an established one way system is quite another matter.

Plus, I am sure other motorists have witnessed a situation where cars travelling across the town bridge have managed to manoeuvre in such a way, that they can turn sharp left in order to enter Weaver Way, this being carried out to avoid having to drive round the one way system.

I wait with interest to see if any action is taken to prevent what is an accident waiting to happen. Something clearly has to be done.
