I would like to thank all the people of Winsford who came out and voted Labour at the parliamentary, local and town council elections.

The key issue that was raised with me as the parliamentary candidate during the election was the regeneration of Winsford.

The new Leader of Cheshire West and Cheshire Council, Cllr Samantha Dixon, wants to work with the town council and the new MP to ensure this happens.

It is vital though, that as part of that regeneration Winsford's new MP Antionette Sandbach, holds true to the promise she made at the hustings event in Wharton, and restated on election night that she will be opening her constituency office in Winsford.

I would call on Ms Sandbach to reaffirm that she will hold true to her pre-election promise so that she, Cheshire West and Chester Council and Winsford Town Council can start working together for the people of Winsford as soon as possible.

By opening her office in Winsford, she will send a signal to companies, investors and the local community that Winsford is a town open for business, a town that is forward looking and a town with a bright future.
