I HOPE more readers will respond to Joe Reacher's letter (Guardian, March 18) concerning Memorial Court.
I know it's all water under the bridge now, but I think most Northwich residents would agree with the views expressed.
I have in the past made my views clear about the ghastly exterior of the new building and how it dominates everything around it like some alien beast that has invaded the town centre.
I have no comments to add, regarding its suitability in other respects, but I have heard little good said about it from other local residents, except that they have felt hoodwinked into accepting something that is contrary to their wishes, and were not given the chance for an open discussion on the project prior to putting the plans into action.
Let's hope the plans for the Barons Quay development will help local business and the community at large to reap the benefits, not just outside investors financial interests.
