REGARDING the rebuilding of the tower at Sandiway, Guardian, February 4, which is of course good news.

I assume it is to be placed in its original location?

I consider it would be better relocated further east, towards Northwich on the wider section of centre reservation.

It would be an appreciably more visible feature in the wooded area on the approach to Sandiway.

There would also be far less disruption to traffic at this safer construction site which would only require one lane closure and avoid temporary traffic lights.

There would be additional foundation costs which could be partly offset by the reduced traffic control and possible saving of provision of steel crash barriers at the original location.

When funding is available, the existing right turn to Cuddington could be vastly improved by the additional available carriageway width.
