I WAS disheartened at the Guardian's mystery columnist's attitude to Christmas.
I like to think of Christmas in an alternative way.
There's enough sadness, loneliness, hardship and stress throughout the year.
Christmas may highlight the plight of many, but it can also be a cause for celebration, and highlight some of the kindness that exists.
It is also a time to remember there are less fortunate people, but there is also hope.
Our Christmas this year will not be as extravagant, but it will be enjoyable.
You don't have to be taken in by the commercialism.
The environment is of utmost importance, and we as a family are aware of the impact, and take measures to reduce our waste.
We save money a lot of the year to prepare for Christmas, with the excitement of bargains and giving sensibly.
If people are aware of your financial situation, they will understand.
It's time to celebrate the better side of mankind, so please take control and enjoy Christmas.
