THREE cheers for correspondents, Clr Paul Dolan and John Oliver for expressing their concern about the increasing traffic congestion in Northwich, Guardian, August 6.
It is of course most noticeable around the end of the massive Lifestyle Centre steel structure, and the Co-op supermarket.
Inconvenient though traffic jams are, the air pollution from vehicle exhausts can be very damaging, particularly to young children’s development.
Studies of traffic air pollution across Europe show adverse effects upon lungs and heads among the young, and I suggest we request CWAC to install pollution monitors to check whether levels are hazardous or becoming so.
We need to do this before bus loads of our local kids start to arrive for swimming lessons. Moss Farm pool having closed!
