BECAUSE protecting Cheshire’s greenbelt is one of UKIP’s key policies I would like to respond to the full page advertisement placed by Cheshire East Council on page 76, Guardian, July 23.

UKIP is pleased to offer support to Cheshire East Council’s efforts to defend our precious greenbelt and to abide by local agreements made with local people.

Despite UKIP’s best efforts on behalf of local residents, we are dismayed at the way in which central Government policies have been forced through to override planning decisions all over Cheshire.

UKIP is not, and cannot, be influenced by billionaire housing developers with their teams of public relations experts.

We will continue to fight for the democratic rights of local people to decide whether building should go ahead in their own communities.

The problem is that because of uncontrolled mass immigration, England is facing a housing crisis.

Even a well-intentioned council like Cheshire East, and with UKIP’s support they cannot stop London-based politicians forcing extra houses in Cheshire.

It is only when we have got rid of the career politicians from the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat parties that power will be taken from London and returned to Cheshire communities.

UKIP is the party of ordinary men and women, and this is why we are fighting to protect our precious greenbelt.

Because London-based politicians encourage mass immigration, the pressure to build more and more houses will only increase. Do we want to see building in our villages or towns to provide accommodation for unskilled immigrants from Europe?

We are UKIP and we are you, and we will fight these politicians every step of the way to protect
the way we want to live.
