Our wonderful asset, the Northwich road underpass, is under threat. I have seen families with prams, little ones on scooters also those using mobility scooters happily passing through.

People of all ages and abilities cross under the main roads of Northwich with no problems and children run and shout as they enjoy the freedom that the underpass provides.

The tunnels are wide and the sections under the roads are short. It is open and light and with people appearing from three different directions, nothing sinister could happen.

Drainage is superb; this structure has never flooded once.

If the underpass was filled in, and everyone who uses it had to cross the roads by using a pelican crossing, just imagine how many times the traffic would have to stop and start. It would slow the traffic constantly.

This is an asset we do not want to be taken away from us.
