REGARDING letters, Guardian, April 16 and 23, about the town centre river crossings.

The iron bridge that both ladies have mentioned is the Town Bridge; a similar bridge also over the River Weaver is Hayhurst Bridge. Over the River Dane are Dane Bridge and Victoria Bridge.

The bridge over the Weaver on the by-pass is Hartford Bridge, not the Blue Bridge; I think at one time, it was painted green.

The bridge known locally as Iron Bridge is the former railway bridge which is built over the Chester Road at Castle.

Both ladies may have noticed that the public house formerly called the Thatch Tavern has been re-named the Iron Bridge.

I have sent this in case of confusion and if they ever need to make insurance claims.
