THIS week I had reason to attend the treatment centre at Leighton Hospital and I feel compelled to write and acknowledge the excellent standard of care I received. From arrival in the clean and welcoming surroundings every member of staff I met set out to make my experience as relaxing as could be under the circumstances.

The anaesthetist and consultant both took the time to speak to me before and after the operation and I felt that every step of the way I was receiving the highest quality professional care.

After the daycare operation I needed to be transferred to Ward 9 overnight and I have to say this quality of care continued.

In a time when our NHS is consistently under fire for its failures I witnessed a committed staff team who continue to deliver a high quality professional service whatever is fired at them. Most of the time what they do is a thankless task so I wanted to ensure that the treatment centre and Ward 9 staff received a very public th anks for the standard of care I receive.
