DANNY Meadowcroft has left Witton to return to Colwyn Bay little more than a month after moving in the opposite direction.

The defender was a second half substitute for the Seagulls last night, Tuesday, as they picked up precious points in their battle to avoid relegation from the Football Conference.

“We’re sad to see him go,” Albion boss Brian Pritchard told the Guardian.

“Danny has made an impact since coming here, but asked that I make clear his decision is for non football-related personal reasons.”

For now, the club does not wish to elaborate.

Meadowcroft, 27, made eight starts in league and cup during his brief stay, scoring once.

He was sent off in what proved to be his final appearance in the club’s colours during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hednesford.

“I’ve been thinking about the team we had when I first came to club and how difficult we were to beat,” Colwyn Bay boss Frank Sinclair told the North Wales Weekly News.

“Danny Meads was a big part of that team and I am chuffed to bits to have him back. He is Colwyn Bay through and through, and a timely signing for us.”
