GLADSTONE C completed a Northwich and District League double when they ended the challenge of underdogs Witton Chimes A in last week’s Team Knockout final.

After Eric Webber and Lewis Webber took the opening frames for the favourites, the latter with a composed maximum break, Stuart Porter pulled one back.

However Adam Griffiths made it 3-1 before Matty Hubert sealed victory by beating Darren Porter.

Bob Holness made it 5-1 before Amie-Marie Stanley prompted the crowd’s biggest roar when she surprised Darryl Fallows in the seventh frame.

She held her nerve to clear the table, aided by two shots given to her from the break, to reduce a distance between the teams on the scoreboard.

Gladstone had plenty to celebrate still after matching a feat they first achieved in the 2015-2016 season by taking both of the league’s major prizes.
