Winnington Park 2 Liverpool University 5

WINNINGTON Park suffered a fourth successive defeat on Saturday after failing to recover from an explosive start by their guests.

Without influential defender Adam Kueres, the Northwich outfit conceded inside five minutes when the students converted a penalty corner.

They doubled their lead shortly afterwards following a scramble in the circle.

It was 3-0 when another powerful strike, again from a penalty corner, found its way into the net.

And a disastrous first half was complete when goalkeeper John-Paul Dodd was left one-on-one with a Liverpool forward, who dribbled around him to score.

Park pulled a goal back through Danny Hancock, and closed the gap further when skipper Pete Evans struck from a penalty corner.

But the away side added a fifth late on.

Winnington attempt to halt a losing sequence at Oxton seconds on Saturday.
