VICS continued their remarkable run with an impressive victory at 10-man Oxford.

Lee Steele cashed in on a defensive calamity to steer the visitors in front on 10 minutes, a lead they held on to.

The Us were reduced to shortly after the restart when Luke Foster picked up a second caution.

Vics, much improved after the break following Oxford manager Darren Patterson's change of formation, were full value for their third victory in four away matches.

Mark Roberts made his debut on the right hand side of Vics' back three, replacing Danny Meadowcroft, while fellow loanee David Brown came on for Darryn Stamp late on.

They now match Halifax Town's point tally - 33 - with Farsley Celtic, Altrincham and Weymouth level on 36 ahead of them.

Dino Maamria's men have at least one game in hand on all three.
