SPEEDWORKS Motorsport made steady progress in this morning’s first free practice session for tomorrow’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship fourth round at Oulton Park.
The Northwich team’s Toyota Avensis, piloted by Tony Hughes, completed a dozen laps in the 40-minutes session.
“It went well,” said team boss Christian Dick.
“The times were good, but we’ll continue to keep pushing hard for improvement next time out.”
A second practice period starts at 12.45pm.
Hughes placed 23rd on the timesheets with a best of 1:32.407, two tenths of a second adrift of Toyota rival Frank Wrathall (Dynojet).
Honda Racing Team tandem Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal posted the quickest circuits ahead of Silverline Chevrolet pair Jason Plato – the reigning champion – and Alex MacDowall.
Dick added: “We’re focused on making progress every time the car goes out.”
A total of 24 cars are at the Little Budworth circuit for Sunday’s race triple-header.
