RACE fans at Oulton Park can enjoy improved views from one of the circuit’s most popular corners this season.
Circuit bosses have built a 100m-long raised bank at Lodge, which backs onto the remains of the Little Budworth venue’s iconic entrance.
“Lodge corner is synonymous with last lap lunges and exciting overtaking moves so we hope this new bank will become an extremely popular viewing area with our spectators,” said track boss Simon Bonser.
“It has always been a desire of ours to provide spectators with improved viewing there.”
He said that the work is part of an ongoing programme by circuit owners MotorSport Vision (MSV) to provide visitors with improved facilities following on from the creation of a vantage point at Britten’s Hairpin last year.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Bonser announced too the installation of a powerful new CCTV system to help reduce race delays and improve marshals’ response times to accidents.
MSV has joined forces with Tyco partners Total Security Protection and WOT Security Group to complete the project.
