LOSTOCK Gralam picked up precious points from two matches this week to climb out of the Division One drop zone.

The Grey Lambs became only the second side to beat Eagle on their own pitch in the league this season following a 2-0 win on Tuesday, which included goals from Ryan Jackson and Ryan Millington.

A 1-1 draw with Gamesley on Saturday ensures Ross Speight’s men swap places with Billinge.

The Northwich outfit’s rivals to avoid relegation lost 2-1 at Crewe, who ended a six-match run without victory when Nathan Tickle and Steve McNicholl were on target for the hosts.

Champions Knutsford, without a match on Saturday, were impressive winners at Greenalls – runners-up last season – on Tuesday.

In-form Liam Myers scored a goal in each half to keep Reds on course to retain their title.

Garswood moved up to second spot following a home success against Linotype at the weekend.

Rylands entered the table’s top six after scoring four points in a double-header with Styal, the highlight a 2-1 victory on the road in midweek.

Rudheath’s lead at the Division Two summit is worth four points following a 2-0 win at fellow promotion hopefuls Poynton.

Gary Bryning scored twice in east Cheshire for the victors, who had Sam Didsbury dismissed.

Barnton continue to chase their neighbours, Warren Bellew’s early goal setting the Town Field on course to a comfortable 3-1 success at home to Sandbach United. Colin Quirk and Billy Webb were on target too.

Runcorn Town reserves remain in contention, in third place, after edging Golborne by the odd goal in five, the latter losing again at the weekend when they went to Malpas.
