BARNTON continued their run of good form, overcoming Mere by eight runs at Barnton.
The home side batted first and scored steadily to build a platform, with 24 from Ben Wingfield, 32 from Paul Coot and 30 from Phil Wingfield, making his first appearance for many years.
With the scene set, Barnton were able to pick up the pace to close on 213 for 6, with Danny Gee scoring 28 and Neil Langham playing a fine innings to finish on 53 not out, his maiden half century Mere started off at a great rate and were always up with the run rate as they chased the home side's total, but two wickets from James Ollier pegged them back.
Danger man Blackburn was caught in the deep for 62, Mere's ran out of steam and Matt Morley (4-57) returned to mop up the tail.
