CAPTAIN Mark Johnson backed Oulton Park seconds’ bowlers to deliver victory against Bramhall on Saturday, and they did exactly that.

After declaring at 213-8, the Division One leaders dismissed the home team for 153 thanks to the combined efforts of Tom Hyslop (4-29) and Ben Tomlinson (4-27).

It keeps them in front of closest-rivals Grappenhall by a slender three-point margin.

Hyslop (74) and Tomlinson had put on 88 for the first wicket together earlier in the day, while contributions from Ben Kettle (30) and Owen Williamson’s run-a-ball 34 boosted the Little Budworth outfit’s tally.

Davenham’s seconds continue to occupy a position in the relegation zone following a nine-wicket reverse at home to Cheadle.

Without a half-century from Dean Jackson at the bottom of the order, the men from Butcher’s Stile would have scored a much lower total than the 107 they posted.

George Dickinson took 6-26 for the visitors, who cruised to their target in 22 overs with Adam Dooler (47no) leading the way.

There is no change at the bottom of Division Two after all three mid Cheshire teams lost.

Simon James (23) was the only batsman to reach double figures as Northwich were toppled for 54 by Lindow, for whom Will Beckley claimed five wickets.

They went on to record a comfortable nine-wicket win at Moss Farm.

Weaverham continue to occupy a place in the bottom two following a huge 215-run reverse at Stockport Georgians, where they were skittled for 48 after their hosts declared at 263-3.

Middlewich prop up their neighbours after their own humbling defeat, this time by 142 runs, at home to Bollington.

Matt Dawson (60) and Gregg Bishop (62no) both scored half-centuries for the visitors as they tallied 203-8 after winning the toss.

Kyran Davies (3-53) and captain Gavin Twigg (3-47) were the pick of the bowling attack.

However their teammates failed at the crease, succumbing for 61 with only Twigg (13) and Paul Donnelly (22) posting a double-digit score.

Bishop (4-30) and Griff Roberts, who took four wickets without conceding a run, took the plaudits for Bolly.
