WINNINGTON Park are one of a pair of Division Two teams that can boast of an unblemished record following the first fortnight of the campaign.

They won by 54 runs on Saturday at Haslington, where they were dismissed for 128 after winning the toss with Jonny Wales (45) their leading scorer.

The hosts were humbled for 74 in reply, with Ian Connor (4-30) and Wales (3-10) starring in Park’s attack.

Barnton eased to a five-wicket win in the same section at Woodford, where Adam Garrod returned figures of 6-18 as the home team were knocked over for 112.

Openers Paul Coot (37) and Mike Dickenson (21) set the men from Broomsedge on course for a victory after tea at 113-5.

Kingsley successfully chased 135 to beat Chelford, with Mitchell Headrick (46 off 54 balls) only missing out on a half-century after he was run out.

Earlier, they had chosen to field first after winning the toss.

Peter Pearce (5-27) and Mike Yeates (3-19) confirmed that as the right decision with opener Khurram Malik (61) one of only two batsmen to reach double figures as Chelford were sent back for 134.

Matt Norton’s seven-wicket haul for Oakmere was not enough to help them to victory at home to Lymm Oughtrington Park.

Last-wicket duo George Anderson and Andy Hossack saw the Warrington outfit safely to their target as they chased 147 to win.

Even Norton (7-34) could not separate them.

Oakmere had been put in at Overdale Lane, with opener Alex Hodges (41) holding the innings together before Guy Groves (40) accelerated the scoring lower down the order.

They finished on 146-9.

Winsford’s slow start to the season continued in Division Three, where they lost by 135 runs against Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge.

The visitors racked up 230-7 at Knights Grange before skittling the home team for 95.

Wicket-keeper Barry Crellin hit 66.
