THE Premier Division’s best travellers, Northwich Victoria, hope to continue their pursuit of Cheshire neighbours Chester by beating Whitby tomorrow.
But they will have to do so without key men Ian Kearney and Tom Field, both banned, plus top scorer Wayne Riley.
Vics have won more games – 12 – on the road than any of their rivals this term, while only fellow promotion-hopefuls FC United have hit the net more times.
They have won seven of nine matches on the road at teams in the table’s bottom half, a record matched by Marine.
Hosts Whitby have won only twice in front of their own fans this term, failing to shut out any of the teams in the standings’ top half at the Turnbull.
Only Burscough have conceded more goals on their home pitch too.
However Darren Williams’ men have improved since the turn of the year, winning four of their past six league encounters including each of the past two.
Defender Ibby Hassan expects to shake off a calf injury to play, but strike pair Andy Campbell and Jordan Hugill (both knee) are longer term absentees.
