ANDY Preece believes Vics’ test at Workington will be one that’s repeated time and again this season.

The Northwich boss told the Guardian that the Cumbrian outfit shared the characteristics of most of his team’s rivals.

“They are what I would call a typical Blue Square North team,” he said.

“The team has great energy and is really well organised and they make it very difficult for opposing sides at their place.

“They’ve picked up one or two decent results already this season and I’m expecting it to bee a real test for us.”

Preece said his players’ attitude in training this week has been exactly what he expected following two successive defeats.

Their task now is to transfer that mood onto the pitch.

He added: “To be fair I’ve never had a problem with how the lads approach training.

“They have been at it this week and that’s good to see on the back of a poor performance. We’ve watched the Redditch match again and I’ve pointed out one or two things that need to be put right.

“Nobody has been down because we are going to have periods this season when we struggle or are not at our best.

“We didn’t get carried away after winning two of the first three games and we certainly won’t beat ourselves up about losing the past couple.”

The second part of Vics’ Bank Holiday double-header pits them against fellow promotion hopefuls Southport at the Victoria Stadium on Monday, kick off 3pm.
