ALTY cruised through to the final with a clinical display.

They made their class – and fitness – tell against an Albion side that lacked the adventure to cause an upset.

The contest was one-sided from the start.

Witton’s best chance was their first – Kieran Lugsden leading a raid that send Lee Thompson into a shooting space but he shot straight at Robins keeper Stuart Coburn.

The hosts dominated possession after that, although for 20 minutes they were rarely incisive.

Paul Booth’s brilliant block stopped Joe O’Neill’s shot puncturing the stalemate following Warren Peyton’s incisive assist.

They broke the deadlock on 32 minutes.

Denham, back in the starting line up after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, flicked Matt Doughty’s centre into the far corner.

A second should have followed from the spot.

Robbie Lawton picked out Peyton and, as he turned inside to shoot, Booth took him down with a sliding challenge.

Only the referee believed it was not a penalty.

Albion, crowding the midfield with three enforcers to leave Thompson fighting a lone battle further forward, relied on breaks to relieve the pressure.

Jordan King led one, feeding Witton’s top scorer six minutes before the break, but his effort was deflected to safety.

Alty doubled their tally a minute before the break, Densmore blasting a swerving free kick into the top corner after Gary Scott had floored Alex Meechan on the edge of the box.

Brian Pritchard aimed a free header straight at Coburn soon after the restart before the Robins made it 3-0.

Greg Young stormed down the left flank before squaring to Denham, who scored at the second attempt after Smith’s initial reflex save.

At the other end Thompson should have done better than shoot feebly at Coburn after Ashley Dunn had crafted an opening.

Alty completed the scoring on 74 minutes following a gaffe by Pritchard.

His square pass was pounced upon by sub Chris Senior, who scampered clear before lobbing Smith.
