Northop Hall Ladies 3-2 Winnington Park Ladies
WINNINGTON Park were on course to extend a winning run at Northop Hall to four matches after establishing a two-goal lead during Saturday’s season opener.
However their hosts recovered in the second period to claim a victory that appeared unlikely after newcomer Kirsty Norwood and then Jaz Barlow – who forced Rhona Logie’s effort over the line – had scored for the Northwich outfit.
They switched off though, and were punished when the home team halved their arrears.
Northop then made their substitutions count after the interval, drawing level again at 2-2.
Julie Rafferty’s goal-line clearance kept Park in the contest until they conceded a decisive third goal with time running out.
They host Chester’s seconds in Division One at Moss Farm this Saturday, push back 12.30pm.
Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 2-1 Alderley Edge Ladies 5th
BECKY Elliot scored twice to ensure Winnington Park’s seconds collected maximum points from their Cheshire Women’s League fixture on Saturday.
She put the hosts ahead at Moss Farm by applying the finish touch to a fine team move before Alderley Edge levelled with a stylish goal of their own before half time.
Park pushed for a winner in the second period, and were rewarded when Elliot found the net again after another impressive passing move.
They head to Chesterr’s fourths on Saturday, push back 2pm.
