CHRIS Heptinstall’s try from the last play of a thrilling final earned Winnington Park victory at the Oldershaw Cider Sevens.

After recovering from 22-7 down against Birkenhead Park at the Wirral venue, they won 26-22.

Park’s squad, led by captain Lee Allmark, cruised through the group stage with wins against Wallasey A (41-0), Birkenhead Park (19-15), Liverpool University (61-0) and Port Sunlight (40-0).

A semi final success followed against Wallasey B.
