DANNY Andrews was picked by everybody as Witton’s outstanding performer on the pitch this season during an awards ceremony after Albion’s final home league game.

Manager Brian Pritchard, the winger’s teammates and the club’s supporters chose the 27-year-old to receive their respective prizes.

He had scored moments earlier during Albion’s 4-2 defeat against Rushall Olympic.

“There were one or two outstanding candidates but Danny deserves to win,” said the Witton boss.

“He’s a dream to manage; he doesn’t complain, he never lets me down and has been probably our most consistent player.”

Andrews, who joined Witton from Cammell Laird in 2011, is the team’s joint top scorer this term with fellow wide attacker Josh Hancock.

After each hitting the net against the Pics, they are tied on 17 goals.

Ben Harrison, the fans’ pick for star turn last season, finished second in their poll this time around.
Hancock was third.

The goal of the season went to Alex Titchiner as a reward for the first of his brace in a 3-2 success against Nantwich Town in February.

It marked the first time the 22-year-old striker had scored in a competitive game in close to a year.

The Ethel Stelfox trophy for Clubman of the Year went to volunteer Sam Stanley.
