OWLEY Wood A’s march to the Mid Cheshire League’s Premier Division title continued with a 6-1 thrashing of Castle Private A.

Closest rivals Pockets C enjoyed a comfortable win too, over bottom-placed Middlewich Legion A, while champions Middlewich Legion D remain in third place after beating Riley’s.

Winsford Cons A moved clear of the drop zone after bettering Middlewich Legion A.

Leaders Castle Private B suffered only a second defeat of the season in Division One, this time against promotion-hopefuls Cygnet.

Wharton Cons D edged Winsford Cons to stay second, but Owley Wood D remain as back-markers despite beating their clubmates.

Winnington A’s third reverse of the campaign, against Victoria B, was not enough to cede top spot in Division Two.

Cosey Club won at Victoria D, while Wharton Cons B were victors in a battle of the bottom two teams after trumping Winnington D by the odd frame.

Pockets D squeezed past Moulton in the other game.

Pacesetting Wharton Cons C established a 10-point lead in Division Three after whitewashing Castle Private D, while the Winsford club’s A team topped Meadowbank B.

Elsewhere Meadowbank A beat Victoria C.
