CHESHIRE Stars T have won games in successive weeks against direct rivals for promotion to the South Cheshire Premier League’s top tier.
The Middlewich team became the first team to beat season-long leaders Ladyhawks A in the Championship Division last Monday, running out 36-19 victors to end their opponents’ 14-match winning sequence.
A victory against Alsager the previous week leaves those two teams tied in second spot, though Stars have a game in hand.
In Division One, Cheshire Stars Pink condemned James Walker UK to the drop after winning their head-to-head.
Winsford’s hopes of being promoted from Division Two ended when leading pair Dragonflies and Indigo registered the wins they required to make theirs the table’s top two places.
