WITTON’S reward for defeating Curzon Ashton in the Doodson Sport League Cup is a date with Premier Division title hopefuls Chorley at the next stage.
Brian Pritchard’s men, yet to play the Magpies in a league encounter this term, will visit Victory Park next Tuesday, December 17, kick off 7.45pm.
The winner of that head-to-head will host Skelmersdale United, winners in Wincham on each of their past three visits, in the last 16 next month.
Danny Andrews scored direct from a free kick to settle last Tuesday’s first round clash with Curzon, curling into the top corner after half an hour.
It was a goal that still separated the teams at the end of a game that marked teenage midfielder Josh Crofts’ debut for Albion.
