ROSS Hanley could be crowned as a champion for the first time when the Bambino Kart Club campaign reaches a conclusion in Cumbria this Saturday.

The six-year-old, a pupil at Kingsmead Primary School, has a healthy lead at the standings’ summit despite missing the previous meeting, an advantage made bigger by wins at Fulbeck and PF International earlier this summer.

He leads too in the Bambino class of the Independent Kart Racing Championship, based at Wigan’s Three Sisters circuit, after recovering from a spin to claim a race victory in the series’ penultimate round.
