A NORTHWICH duo are preparing to cycle more than 300 miles from London to Paris in aid of Action Medical Research.

Andy Dunn, from Gorstage, and Jon Wade, from Winnington, will be undertaking the four-day event in June after a year of cycling.

Andy, who owns Relish Cafe Bar in Hartford, said: “We only started 12 months ago as a good way to keep fit and lose some weight, but we soon got the bug and last year we completed a few charity bike rides, including Manchester to Liverpool, Manchester to Chester and Manchester 100K.

“We enjoyed them so much that we decided we wanted to challenge ourselves even further this year.”

Andy, aged 45, and Jon, 35, are also organising a gala event in June to help with their fundraising and are appealing for anyone who can donate raffle prizes.

Andy said: “We were drawn to the fact that Action Medical Research is a lesser known charity and doesn’t simply focus on one specific area.

“The work they do is groundbreaking research to help reduce the high rate of premature birth, target and treat rare childhood diseases and improve the lifestyle of children with disability and support their families.”
