POLITICS students from Sir John Deane’s College joined Radio Redshift to discuss the Youth Speaks Competition.

Karolina Dimitrova and Luke Robinson talked about winning the regional final, which put them through to the next stage.

The students, including Matt Lynes who was unable to attend the interview, will represent SJD in the Wales and north of England final to debate ‘what are the fundamentals of a good education?’ on March 29 at Glynwr University, Wrexham.

It was a double celebration for Luke who won best overall speaker in the competition.

Paul Allanach, head of humanities, said: “The trio are fantastic representatives of the college and performed exceptionally.”

Run by the Rotary Club, the competition is aimed at 11 to 18 year olds to encourage public speaking and further presentation skills.
