THERE was a change of venue for the August meeting. On a warm summer evening members made their way by car to the Big Lock Hotel in Middlewich where, on gathering, a group took an interesting walk along the canal towpath. The colourful and decorated narrow-boats moored alongside the canal bank were admired. The members then chose culinary delights from a varied menu and enjoyed the wholesome meals which followed.
President Joy Hoad conducted a short business meeting.
Member Glenice Bowers and her husband, Les, had recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary and the cards they had received (including one from the Queen) were much admired.
The next meeting is at Lach Dennis Village Hall on Monday, September 14, from 7pm when Byley WI will join us. The speaker will be Jean Finney, on The History of Nursery Rhymes.
