AT the July meeting of Middle-Wyches WI members were given a talk in martial arts, by speaker Chris Travis a ju-jitsu and martial expert.
Chris demonstrated a few moves with members’ participation and it was amazing to see women of all ages bring a 6ft male down to the ground.
It was a session that was much appreciated with lots of fun, laugh and enjoyment. It is hoped to ask Chris back again.
The highlight of June was the Cheshire Show and on the second year of entering, Middle-Wyches had one second place, two third places and two highly commended. Well done to those members.
The next meeting in August will be a day out to the National Arboretum at Alrewas. This beautiful parkland is a moving and stunning memorial to the war dead.
Meetings will return to normal in September and will be held as usual at the Wych Centre on the second Monday of the month at 7pm. The speaker will be a representative from Roberts Bakery. For further information ring 01606 837532.
