AUDIENCES in Alsager will be able to enjoy some family films this summer, when the Civic Centre becomes home to the Civic Cinema.

The building was taken over by the Town Council in June, and work has been going on behind the scenes to make screenings possible.

The films will be shown on Fridays, between August 3-24 inclusive.

Screenings at 2.30pm feature U and PG rated films: Men in Black 3, The Pirates - In an Adventure with Scientists, Top Cat, and Ice Age 4.

Evening films at 7.30pm will be 12a or 15 rated: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Warhorse and Magic Mike.

Drinks and snacks will be available, and the bar will be open in the evenings.

Manager, James Bettany, said: “We are all really excited about bringing something new to the community. I am looking forward to some full houses.”

Tickets will be available in advance from Alsager Civic Centre, or on the door, priced at £4, or 4 tickets for £14.00.

Doors will open half an hour before the showings. Under12s must bring an adult.
