A SECTION of Winsford’s Wharton roundabout gyratory will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, August 4-5 while resurfacing work is carried out.
A temporary contra flow arrangement will allow vehicles to cross the roundabout in both directions to maintain access along the A54.
The junctions with Wharton Park Road and New Road will be closed and diversion routes will be in place. During the closure large goods vehicles will not be able to access New Road.
Essential access to properties and businesses will be maintained. However, through traffic will not be permitted for the duration of the works.
Clr David Armstrong said: “This resurfacing scheme I am sure will be welcomed by drivers.
“The Council apologises for the inconvenience caused during the works which are being carried out because of the poor condition of this section of Wharton Road roundabout.
“Work has been programmed over a weekend to minimise delays, however when the scheme is underway there will unfortunately be hold ups.”
