AN OLYMPIC themed cafe has been launched in Northwich and will open every day until August 12.
The Salvation Army, in Tabley Street, is offering culinary delights in dishes native to a number of countries competing in the tournament.
A duo of qualified volunteer chefs will be cooking up India’s curry korma, popadoms, chutney and rice, Italian favourite lasagne and salad, Spanish paella, Sweden’s meatballs, Chinese-style crispy aromatic duck, New Zealand lamb shanks with vegetables, America’s famed burgers and chips alongside our very own full English Breakfast and roast beef.
Captain Imogen Stewart, leader of The Salvation Army in Northwich, said: “The Olympic Games is a fantastic opportunity to have some fun, get fit, and learn more about all the different countries that are going to be involved in this worldwide sporting event.
“We believe in providing something for everyone.
“Although much of the Games are happening in London, we are not far from the action here in Northwich.
“We will have football taking place at Old Trafford in Manchester and we are going to show events on a big screen in our centre.
“We want to welcome the community of Northwich to enjoy the Olympics with us. It is something for everyone to celebrate.”
