WINCHAM residents are encouraged to have their say on a planning application that would see more than 1,000 extra homes built in the village.
Members of the community have organised a meeting at Wincham Community Centre on Sunday, July 17, starting at 2pm.
An application by Emery Planning Partnership, on behalf of Gladedale Estates Ltd and Russell Homes Ltd, was submitted in June.
It outlines proposals for a mixed residential, commerical and recreational urban village in Lower Wincham.
And if approved, the land off New Warrington Road and Chapel Street would be transformed into 1,050 family homes - with 30 per cent affordable housing - and a new village centre with shops, services, open space and small scale office accomodation.
Building work is expected to be completed in three phases, totalling 12 years.
