A PAIR of Winsford schoolboys are on the lookout for budding adventurers to join them on a charity trek.

Hebden Green pupils Sam Taylor and Alex Grice, both 11, will take part in the Sahara Stomp organised by The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).

But they are looking for more people to join the group of sponsored volunteers that will undertake an exciting three day trek across the world famous desert.

All the money raised will contribute to CAFT’s work in providing holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children.

Helen Crowther, senior trust fundraiser for CAFT, said: “The Sahara Stomp is a great opportunity for people to challenge themselves and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience while also raising money for a good cause.

“The money that we raise from the trek will allow us to continue helping children and their families to enjoy free holidays and events that can temporarily take their mind of their problems.

“We’ve already had a fantastic response, with 24 people signed up to take part, but we’re still looking for more people who want to take on the challenge.”

The Sahara Stomp takes place from 18 to 23 November. Participants will get the chance to explore the varied landscape of the desert, climb the Chigaga Dunes and watch the sunrise over the Sahara. To find out more, visit saharastomp.co.uk.
