A PENSIONER was punched in the head during an attack in Castle.

The 71-year-old was driving a red Honda HRV, on Chester Road, between One Stop Shop and the Thatched Tavern pub, when a drunken man kicked his car, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

When he stopped further along the road to inspect the damage, the attacker shouted abuse at him.

The pensioner tried to calm the situation down, before getting into his car and trying to leave when another man opened the passenger door and tried to steal the keys from the ignition, damaging the ignition barrel.

This man punched the pensioner in the head.

A small blue vehicle that was travelling behind the pensioner’s car was also kicked by the first man, but the driver did not stop.
