TWO youngsters from a Middlewich youth club got their hands dirty to help the community.
Josh and Liam Hicks, members of Impact youth club based at Mococo in Wheelock Street, rolled up their sleeves to clear an area of scrubland at Brereton Heath Nature Reserve and got sponsorship from their friends and family.
The hardworking youngsters spent eight hours digging up weeds and ripping out brambles in a bid to let the heather flourish and encourage wildlife.
Carl Edwards, youth co-ordinator at the club, said: “Part of my hope is to see young people taking responsibility for the environment and investing in their community.
“I would just like to thank the two rangers at Brereton – Brian and Mark – for their help and support with this venture.”
All money raised will go back into the youth club funds.
